Title IX
澳门极速彩 (BMCC), as a recipient of federal funds, is required to comply with Title IX of the Higher Education Amendments of 1972. Title IX is a federal law that prohibits discrimination based on sex in education programs and activities that receive federal financial assistance. The law is codified at 20 U.S.C. 搂1681 et seq. and implemented by the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations at 34 C.F.R. 106. Title IX provides:
鈥淣o person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance鈥︹, 20 U.S.C. 1681(a).
Title IX prohibits sex discrimination in all college programs and activities, including but not limited to: admissions and recruiting; financial aid; academic programs; student services; counseling and guidance; discipline; class assignment; grading; recreation; athletics; housing; and, employment. Title IX also prohibits retaliation against people for making or participating in complaints of sex discrimination. Title IX is enforced by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights (OCR).

澳门极速彩 (BMCC) endeavors to comply with copyright law and encourages all members of the 澳门极速彩community to obey its provisions. 澳门极速彩understands that copyright law applies to digital resources and that any unauthorized redistribution of copyrighted music, movies, text, software, or other protected media may be a violation of the law. Various policies relevant to specific issues of copyright are referenced in the 澳门极速彩Student Handbook, pp. 23-24, and the 400.301 Computer and Electronic Information Access Policy. Penalties for Copyright Infringement
Summary of Civil and Criminal Penalties for Violation of Federal Copyright Laws
Copyright infringement is the act of exercising, without permission or legal authority, one or more of the exclusive rights granted to the copyright owner under section 106 of the Copyright Act (Title 17 of the United States Code). These rights include the right to reproduce or distribute a copyrighted work. In the file-sharing context, downloading or uploading substantial parts of a copyrighted work without authority constitutes an infringement.
Penalties for copyright infringement include civil and criminal penalties. In general, anyone found liable for civil copyright infringement may be ordered to pay either actual damages or 鈥渟tatutory鈥 damages affixed at not less than $750 and not more than $30,000 per work infringed. For 鈥渨illful鈥 infringement, a court may award up to $150,000 per work infringed. A court can, at its discretion, also assess costs and attorneys鈥 fees. Willful copyright infringement can also result in criminal penalties, including imprisonment of up to five years and fines of up to $250,000 per offense. For more information, please see the website of the U.S. Copyright Office at .
